You Suck

I’m in a quandary. I guess nobody reads blogs anymore, and I don’t update this one. Should I just call it quits and build a new site with videos of me filleting my wrist and getting drunk on a boat, or should I keep posting tidbits on here?

I do need to build my first site sometime soon, this may be the big step.  The only problem is is that this is free and that is not.  I would hate to think that my first paying job will also be the first time I have paid for hosting and uploaded to my own server.

Oh yeah, I think I hate white chicks now too.

Education Through Defication

So I was taking a dump the other day, reading the new issue of Wired. I’m not going to give much away since it is not on newsstands yet but the cover story is about the 15 smartest people on various global issues.  I was not listed in the story.  I assume that the editors and writers of Wired have never read my commentary on such things like working out or band names, but if they had my name would be on that list.  Is it such a stretch to think that the experts on an issue are NOT the idiots raising their hands saying they are in fact, the experts?  So I don’t post that much, that doesn’t mean I don’t know anything.  If you want my help just ask, I’ll come up with an answer before the ice caps melt and China sells off all of America.  I will not go around declaring myself the expert on world economy, climate change, or apartment gyms…but I am.

I do have a tip for Japanese law enforcement:  This guy came forward, faced international ridicule, disgraced himself to his family, etc.  Why don’t we just bury this one and forget about it.  Hmm?

How Not To Blog

The C++ final project walkthrough was deleted because it had nothing to do with the rest of this site.  Sure there really isn’t much focus here but the one thing you wont see it a tutorial.  Also, somebody linked to the final project page and posted it on his blog to look like his work, this should really ruin his day.

New Concealed Weapons Law does not apply to Santa Fe College

My school has decided that my personal safety is not as important as I thought it was. Here is a quote from an e-mail I received:

There has been some misunderstanding because a new state law in Florida could allow students with concealed weapons permits to keep guns in their cars while on campus. However, students are not permitted to have a weapon anywhere on campus because Santa Fe College has chosen to exercise the new law’s special exception for educational institutions.

SFCC has decided to deny a right granted by the Federal AS WELL AS State Government so that I may protect myself. This ruling comes from the same law enforcement agency that patrols the perimeter of the school inside their SUV’s with the windows up. This tactic works if Sante Fe is trying to prevent a Russian invasion; however, soaking up A/C does very little in the way of stopping the student moving through the cafeteria pointing his firearm at everyone. Thank you SFCC PD, I feel safe.

What I Did On My Day Off

For anyone who doesn’t have one: owning an iPhone makes the sun shine brighter. This fish has an iPhone, that is why the light is so bright.

I have a final project and two exams and I will be done with my C++ class.  My professor posted a comment on the message board today that really pissed me off:

“I do try to get to tutorial 10, but the summer semester is a bit shorter overall….”

What the hell is this?  “Sorry you won’t learn everything you paid for and probably don’t know enough to be useful, good luck!”  After this comment and the lack of classes being offered for fall, I feel that college professors are giving up like high school teachers.  Please remember that not everyone in your class qualified for financial aid.

ST seems to be coming alive again.  Rumors are flowing that Steven is moving back to town and Tommy is jumping ship.  That gives Jim the talent he needs to get his company moving.  There is also talk of a storefront which I will be working.  I don’t plan to leave my jobs just yet but if I start taking web clients and installing networks all week while making better money doing what I want to do, that doesn’t leave much time for bussing tables or pouring drinks.  My life goal is to sit on the other side of the bar on weekends.  That said, apparently I am the webmaster for a liquor store in Virginia now.  I’m not going to link to it until I am certain I maintain it.  It’s good simple work, now flashy stuff or DB, just pretty pictures and forms.

I don’t want to turn this into a diary but I had nothing else going on except an update, I’m going to post step by step as I design and code my final.
